Locations-

I wanted to also focus a lot more on my location- as in the past- although lighting has been a bigger issue- I haven’t pulled out all the stocks when it comes to location. So I decided to film at a quarry- as I struggled to find an old building to film for the whole investigation- so I decided to split the investigation between different areas. So for my locations- I filmed at 3 locations: I filmed at my house and I filmed at two other quarries.

 Adding Elements of Comedy-
  • The Replay- showing clearly again, Yvette throwing a rock- which is apparently the sound of a spirit/ghostly activity.
  • Another part where I added humour is that when Yvette was talking to Jason, there was deliberate bad dubbing.
  • The Séance scene- When Derek is possessed ‘by a spirit’- but really he’s a bit mad and he just brings up bits of his childhood.
  • When Derek enters the scene- he says the ‘whole’ backstory- which links with at the end where you can see Derek reading a script sitting in the boot of the car.
  • The Avocado bathroom scene- just features at the end- to give it more of that parody effect.
  • The title screen alone- ‘Mostly Haunted’ puts a pun on ‘Most Haunted’ which makes it funny and clear of what we are talking the piss out of.

 -Just Ideas-  Showing Development

Adding Elements of Comedy- As I am making a parody on the show- ‘Most Haunted’- within the given structure of the show- I want to be as creative as I can and make it more original. When it comes to investigating- I would like to include a replay- like they typically do in Most Haunted- when they hear a sound or see something. I would like to enchance that and make it more funny- rather than a spooky encounter, which its not because it’s one of the cast eating crunchy nut cereal. (e.g. like this clip down below.) “Did you hear that?”- Yvette would say- then replay- then hear crunch again- pan to cast eating cereal.  Ofcourse I am fully aware of product placement and branding- but I have come up with a way around that- so that it shouldn’t be an issue- and with this element on it’s own- it should add a bit of comedy as well.

-Audience Classification-

Age- I would aim my target audience at 15-21 year olds because Horror and parodies are aimed at a similar age range- and I want my Horror parody to appeal to a younger audience.

Social Class- I would like to think that I appeal to all social class but I think that my Horror parody would probably appeal to a lower middle class/middle class. Many reasons why I think this- is because I don’t think that my Horror parody would be so successful with upper class- and the fact that a range of people are in lower middle class/middle class means that already I appeal to a wide range of people already- which is what I am hoping for anyway.

Gender- I would like to appeal to both genders because Horror and parodies are not necessarily aimed at a certain gender, it’s just the case with what gender it’s the most popular with.

Sexuality- I would like to appeal to anyone’s sexuality because Horror and parodies in general are not aimed to a certain sexuality. And I want my short parody to be successful and I want a variety of different people to watch it- so not having to target a certain sexuality- makes it appeal to a wider range of people and makes more people wan to watch it.
